Last week, Pen and Pepper Farm made its first sale. Garlic scapes are ready and we’ve been harvesting them from our garlic beds in Roxbury and Brookline. Our neighbors Simone and her son Hudson were our very first customers, followed by our upstairs neighbors Sarah and Louis. A few days later, I went to the playground after school and sold bundles of scapes for $1 each (I had 18 bunches and sold them all. I’ll get a few more at the end of this week). We’re grateful to all our friends and neighbors for their support.
