Harvest time is keeping me crazy busy (thus no posts for a while). The tomatoes have been coming in strong and we’ve had some very good Thursdays at the Jamaica Plain Farmer’s Market. The weather is now starting to cool down, fast, so we might only have 1-2 weeks left of tomatoes and other summer crops. But I’m trying to keep them all picked and reaching customers. I’ve had a lot of thoughts about farming and life this season, but they’re going to have to wait until I have a few more minutes to catch my breath. (Yesterday I delivered 100 lbs of tomatoes and 75 pounds of tomatillos to the World PEAS CSA.)
Here is a little time-lapse video of the harvest yesterday, just of the early morning kale and pepper picking. (There was lots of other harvesting going on after.)
